Cubbington CE Primary School Homepage
On behalf of all the staff, governors, volunteers, parents and children I would like to extend a warm welcome to new and prospective members of our school.
Cubbington Church of England Primary School is at the heart of a thriving village community, providing what we believe to be a high standard of primary education not only for the children of the village of Cubbington, but also for children from several outlying villages. We are a truly inclusive school who values everyone as an individual.
Our aims are simply ‘ABC’ - Achieving, Belonging and Caring and we believe that to do this we need courage.
‘Be Courageous for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go’ Joshua 1:9
School is a crucial part of life for all children and our purpose is to give each child every opportunity and encouragement to achieve their full potential intellectually and physically; to develop emotional, social, spiritual and moral values; and to become valuable citizens. This is supported by a highly talented team of committed and enthusiastic teachers and support staff, who work hard to create a structured and orderly establishment that has children’s learning and the achievement of high standards at its heart, thereby ensuring a welcoming and friendly environment in which each child feels happy, safe and secure.
One of the strengths of our school is the close relationship between all involved in the school – staff, governors, parents, St Mary’s church and the wider community. We welcome children from all backgrounds, faiths and cultures and teach children to respect and learn about the diversity of beliefs and customs both in our local community and in the world beyond, while teaching children about the Christian faith through our strong links with our church. In particular, the development of a partnership between the school and the parents and carers of each child is a major aim of the school. As well as sharing information with individual parents about the curriculum and how each pupil is performing academically, the school has developed many opportunities for parents to become involved in the life of the school, and I would encourage all new parents to take advantage of these opportunities, thereby supporting not only their child but the school as a whole.
Investment over recent years means that your child will enjoy learning in comfortable, well-equipped surroundings. (Our amazing PTA have recently purchased new furniture for a number of classrooms.) As well as having a dedicated ICT suite, all classrooms have interactive white boards so that teaching and learning can be most effective through the use of new technologies. The school’s outdoor classrooms and grounds provide plenty of opportunity for learning, sport, gardening and relaxation. From September 2024 the Old School building will house our wrap around childcare facility called ‘The Nest’ to help parents whose lifestyles demand quality child care beyond the school day. We are also just about to launch a brand new pre-school provision which will be run by The Nurture Room Ltd.
The best way to choose a school is certainly to see it in action and we are always pleased to show prospective families around on our Autumn Open Days or by appointment at other times.
I look forward to a long and rewarding partnership, helping and supporting your child to grow and develop as a valued and valuable member of our school and the community.
